From June 17 to 19, representatives of the European project CRETE VALLEY travelled across Crete to present the Renewable Energy Valley ‘Living Lab’ (REV-Lab). The new decentralised power system will enable residents to meet their energy needs through renewable sources. The event aimed to position Crete as a leader in the European energy transition using diverse renewable energy sources. Starting in Lasithi Plateau and Arvi, and concluding June 19 in Heraklion, the roadshow introduced the project to the public, emphasising energy independence and democracy. It included presentations, co-design sessions, and a final conference on energy communities. The project, co-funded by the EU and coordinated by ICCS, involves 41 partners and aims for broader European impact by November 2028.
