EPRI Europe and four Irish institutions are leading a pilot on the Dingle Peninsula to enhance local energy system reliability, flexibility, and security as part of the ENPOWER project. This initiative, involving the DINGLE Hub, MaREI, DCSix Technologies, and ESB Innovation, focuses on empowering the community to efficiently produce and manage its energy. Through the use of smart meters, electric vehicles, and renewable energy technologies, the pilot aims to help the peninsula optimize energy usage and become more sustainable. Key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and transport are adopting these new technologies, with the broader goal of supporting Dingle’s transition to a cleaner, self-sufficient energy model. The ENPOWER project, backed by the EU's Horizon Europe program, collaborates with 28 partners across 13 countries to develop consumer-centric energy solutions.
