IEECP highlights the continued expansion and impact of the Smart Energy Cluster, a collaborative initiative bringing together EU-funded projects to accelerate Europe’s smart and sustainable energy transition.
The Cluster was created to support projects in developing and deploying innovative business models, technologies, and integrated energy services that maximise economic value and deliver wider societal benefits. Over the past three years, it has grown into a major collaboration hub that bridges research, policy, and market-ready solutions. It now includes 35 ongoing projects and 23 completed initiatives, demonstrating the increasing scale and relevance of cross-project cooperation.
Through joint dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities, the Smart Energy Cluster helps projects engage shared target groups, exchange knowledge, and amplify their collective impact. These collaborative efforts support the development of smart energy services, contribute to reducing energy costs for end-users, and improve the investment return of sustainable energy technologies.
The participating projects cover a broad range of topics, including integrated energy services, smart and energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy integration, demand response, energy communities, artificial intelligence applications, energy data platforms, and flexibility solutions. Together, they contribute to the transition toward climate-neutral, resilient, and citizen-centred energy systems across Europe.
