The Smart Energy Cluster is pleased to support a special session on AI for the Future Energy System, as part of the European AI Innovation Month.

The session will be held alongside the 2026 IEEE 22nd International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing - ICCP 2026, which takes place from 22 to 24 October 2026.
Organised by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute – AIRi@UTCN, and DSS Lab, EPU-NTUA, the session will bring together researchers, engineers, technology providers and energy-sector practitioners.
Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important to the development of smarter, more resilient and sustainable energy systems.
The special session will explore how advanced AI technologies can support areas such as:
- Intelligent and resilient electricity grids
- Renewable energy integration
- Energy markets and flexibility
- Forecasting and optimisation
- AI-enabled energy management
- Validation and deployment of trustworthy AI solutions
The event reflects the Smart Energy Cluster’s mission to strengthen cooperation between European research and innovation projects working at the intersection of digital technologies, artificial intelligence and clean energy.
The session is closely aligned with the research and innovation activities of Smart Energy Cluster initiatives, including:
- EnerTEF, which is developing a federated testing and experimentation facility for trustworthy AI solutions in the energy sector
